I wanted to key readers know that why I haven’t posted for months.
My job search really heated up in November and December of 2016.Some days I was interviewing with 3 different companies a day while working full time ( often overtime) for another company. Between working, preparing for interviews, and the interviews themselves, I didn’t have time for my blog.
I ended up being hired by Amazon and moving to Seattle in late December.
These days I’m learning my new job, learning the new area, unpacking my moving boxes, selling items on Craigslist, and ordering new furniture to fit my downsized living space. The real estate market in Seattle is expensive which forced me to downsize my home.
I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as my home office is built now and the stacks of moving boxes continue to shrink as I unpack. I’ll resume regularly writing for my technology blog in early March when I get back from a business trip to Canada around Mar 11, 2017.
I’ve barely arrived in Seattle, and I’m already traveling again. Things are busy, but a good busy as I’m learning tons of new technologies and Development Ops techniques every day. Some day my brain feels like it’s going to explode, which is much better than my old job where the environment moved slowly and was stagnant.
Until my next post, I’ll leave you with the Amazon leadership principle that had impacted me a lot recently…think Big!
